Home Improvements - Part 2

I got this picture from Todd while in St. George. He and Trent worked all weekend and he had all the kids while I enjoyed a girls trip. Sorry honey - but it sure was a great weekend for me!


I am loving the tile so far. Next step....tear out the kitchen wood floors and carpet.

It's beautiful outside so I'm out here watching my kids play...and I just heard Tays yell "suck you" to his friend who blocked his shot. Nice. Way to ruin my perfect day. And I just saw Luke sit on Sophie and toot on her. Seriously my boys need help! (3/15)

I feel like sitting on my couch doing nothing. Except maybe read my book.

Hit 200 miles today and ran 30 miles this week. I can tell we are officially in training season.

What a morning...started by waking up to a text from my boss that our website was broken...followed by 2 1/2 hours of texts, emails, calls, getting my boys ready and off to school...followed by $75 to fill my car. It's 9:30 and I'm ready for the day to be over. (3/4)

A day in the life...of a first grader

Luke had a school program about a day in the life of a 1st grader. He was the first speaking part and did his part great. I got there right before it started and when he saw me his eyes lit up. He knew every word to every song and looked right at me with his big grin as he sang them loud and proud (a little different than Tayson is in school programs). After it was over his teacher said "oh I'm so glad you made it, Luke said you had to work so probably couldn't come". Sad. Of course I was going to be there - I will move any meeting it takes to see my kids and be there for them. I sent Todd a few pictures and took a video for him since he couldn't get home from D.C. in time to be there. He was so sad he missed it. I am so proud of Luke for what a great job he did. Way to go buddy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I have never really been one to do anything fun for St. Patty's but my kids have been talking to me about it for a few weeks so I sucked it up and went all out this year. We started our day with green eggs (and ham of course). Tayson couldn't stomach them and ended up just having toast and a go-gurt but Lukey loved them.

Luke went grocery shopping with me to plan the nights meal and party. We had fettuccine alfredo with spinach in it. I died the alfredo sauce green. Bought green french bread at the store and added a bit of food coloring to the butter, then threw in some green jello, grapes and green kool-aid. We put some leprechaun gold on the table and the kids had a blast. We finished off the night with green rice krispie treats.



My kids had a blast and I love to throw a party - even for something as silly as St. Patrick's day. I'll do just about anything to make my kids smile and make memories with them.

Home Improvements - Part 1

All home improvements start with demolition. Trent came over and pulled out the flooring in our laundry room, mud room and front entry way in preparation for the new tile.




I am without a washing machine for 1 week....can I make it? I don't know.

Where's Waldo

For our combined YM/YW activity we did a "Where's Waldo" night at the Wilk at BYU. I had to take all of my kids since Todd is gone and Timmy's volleyball league is on Wednesday nights. Since I was one of the "waldo's" hiding we decided to just go bowling. I told the kids what we were doing and that we couldn't tell Eric or anyone else that we were going bowling since we were supposed to be hiding from them. The boys took this very seriously and decided to disguise themselves. Luke wore his Mario costume and Tayson was a Ninja (of course you couldn't see him!)


Bowling might have worked if we could have just been there bowling but since Sophie was there it was CRAZY!!! She kept running around and I would have to chase her so everyone could see me. Oh well it was still fun even if every single group found us. Toward the end I was trying to keep Sophie entertained so we started taking pictures for her to look at. These 2 are my favorites.

Boxes, boxes and more boxes

Luke LOVES boxes. It's a little crazy to me. He gets super excited every time a get something in the mail. He could care less about his new shoes he just wants the box. He likes to color them and stack them and slide down the slide on them. I wish I could say I am supportive of this weird obsession - but I can't stand extra junk around the house. And honestly empty boxes are nothing but junk. He even has an empty strawberry container in his stash. UGH. It takes all my patience and love for him to not throw them away as fast as I can. Last Thanksgiving when I picked up the Schultz shirts they came in a big box. Luke and Claire colored every space on the box and played with it for a few days then I threw it away before we had people staying at our house. Last week Luke came up to me and said "Mom, where is the box I colored from the Schultz shirts?" I had to tell him I threw it away. Oops....didn't realize he'd be looking for it 4 months later. My bad.
