Moroni and the Mayor

I am lucky to work right next to where the new Provo City Center Temple is being built.  It was so sad to watch the Tabernacle burn down but has been so amazing to watch it become a temple.  Because I work at Nu Skin we got front row seats to see Moroni being placed on top.  Kami dropped off Sophie and Glen after school too.  

Provo's mayor John Curtis was watching from the Nu Skin building where we were so when he came over to say hello I introduced Sophie to him.  I told her how he was the one who was responsible for our new rec center and getting us Google fiber.  Then they had a lengthy conversation about the band-aid on his thumb and how he got it and did it bleed and she showed him her injured finger nail.  It was hilarious.  He's a great mayor and an even better person.  When Sophie got home she told the other kids all about meeting the mayor - but forgot to mention she got to watch Moroni get placed on top of the temple.

I love being greeted by Moroni every morning as I walk into work....and I find myself singing "High on the Mountain Top" almost every day :)

Luke's 4th Grade Performance

Last night was Luke's 4th grade performance about Utah.  He was cast as a Mountain Man and did a great job.  He had a speaking part and a little dancing.  He was so excited and gave us his cute closed mouth smile every time he saw us in the audience.  Great job bubba!!  

Just some stuff

Today at work we had "western wear" day.  I finally found a use for my HUGE belt buckle that we got from Ragnar Trail last year.  It was my teams first place prize (out of 2 teams ... ha ha) 

Then tonight after our date to the Temple we stopped by Macey's to grab some stuff and Todd ran into a storm trooper in the parking lot. 

Eric's Mission Call

Eric got his mission call today!  He will be serving in the New Jersey, Morristown mission leaving July 23rd. I am so grateful for him and for his amazing example to my kids.  He is such a great kid and is setting the standards high.  I love that my kids can look up to him and that he lives right across the street from us.  I wish my kids could live next door to all of their cousins!!!

Oh Sophie

There is never a dull moment with Soph around.  

She asked to hold Lincoln and after about 5 seconds said "ok I'm done"

She decided to make a sign in sheet for her room based on age.  So far she is the only who has filled her section.  I love that she signs in for her own room.

When I dropped her off at school last week she ended up with a mustache on.  I'm not sure what her teacher said or the other kids but she was excited to wear a purple mustache at school and I sure wasn't going to tell her no.  I love that she is so silly :)

First Lost Tooth

For a few weeks Claire's bottom tooth has been hanging on by a string.  I kept telling her it was going to fall out in her sleep if she wasn't careful and tried to get to her to just pull it out.  Whenever she didn't want to do something we would say "do you want to say the prayer or pull out your tooth?"  She never picked pulling out her tooth.  So finally today after church I told her we were pulling it out.  I let her try with floss then just took some kleenex and dried it off and with a tiny twist it was out.  She said "that didn't hurt at all."  She is very excited to have lost her first tooth!!  

Happy Birthday Great-Grandma

This beautiful gal is 91 today. She is the best grandma/great-grandma around. Always happy with hugs and kisses for everyone. Keep making the 90's look young grandma. We love you!!!

Happy Pi Day

For Pi Day my mom picked up Sophie after school to help her bake a cherry pie.  Sophie loves baking with her grandma so much.   And I love that my dad knew how much I would want pictures of the event so he took these and sent them to me!! 

Just some stuff about Tays

Jr. Jazz - Tays had a blast playing basketball this year.  He loved playing with his buddies from school and they had a great coach.  

Tayson is doing great in his scouting and even got to build a rocket for our stake pow wow.  He is working hard and with Steve as his scout master he will totally get his Eagle :)

Poor Tayson got to spend an hour with me at 6th grade maturation.  Todd was out of town this week so he got me instead.  Luckily he really doesn't mind at all.  He was way more embarrassed that I made him take a selfie with me than me being there during the program.  I can't believe how old he is and that he has to talk about all this boy stuff already!!

Date Night

We went with the Astle's to see Bring it On.  Such a fun show and even more fun being with a cheer mom and cheer dad.  They knew all the crazy cheer moves :)
