Sophie was very excited to spend the day with me at work. We both got dressed up as batmom and batgirl and headed into work. She loved all the attention and people giving her candy. She loved hanging out with me all day and going to lunch with me and my co-workers. And she really loved when we got $50 for being dressed up at work. What a fun day!

Halloween
After the school parade the kids came home had some dinner and waited until it was finally late enough to go trick or treating. Luke and Ryan went together and Tayson took the girls out with his friend Carter. Once they got to David's house he took the girls with him and Tayson and Carter went off on their own. I can't believe my boys are old enough that I let them go trick or treating with friends. How is it possible!!! They all had a great time and came back with lots of candy.
During the kids trick or treating and me handing out candy Todd went to Best Buy and bought me a new washing machine. Then he and Timmy got quite a workout taking the old one out and getting this one all set up. I sure do love my new toy!

Preschool Party
Today was Sophie's preschool Halloween party. She was so excited to wear her costume - especially so she could wear makeup. She is a sassy little thing. I'm pretty sure she's the cutest batgirl ever!!

What we do when we're bored
Today Todd and Sophie met me for lunch - a couple of guys from work came too so while they were all chatting Sophie and I did self portraits to entertain ourselves. This was my favorite - our monster faces.

9th Annual Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza
Another year .... another pumpkin carving extravaganza. We got the house all set up with the furniture moved, and plastic taped to the floors. I made scones. Steve brought chili. Kami made pumpkin bars and then we carved and carved and carved. It was a small year this time around - Heidi's kids got the stomach flu, my parents and Jeannie are both gone so it was about 1/2 the size as usual - but we still had lots of fun.
Steve helped Sophie carve a cool haunted house in her pumpkin then proceeded to add all these face parts over it to make it into a monster. I guess next time I should just give her the mr. potato head parts and save a lot of time.

Nano Tank
Todd finally got a new salt water tank. It's a tiny little nano tank which is perfect for us right now. It doesn't require a lot of time and effort but it is very relaxing to just sit and look at it. He has 3 small fish right now in it.
Final Product
I delivered the last of the cans to my parents house today. I love to see all this amazing food that they grew and we canned. And my dad's shelves are good looking too. It makes me happy to know that we preserved all this food. I can't wait to do even more next year. This doesn't include the stuff I kept at my house :)

360 Fit
I decided to try a new workout at the gym - it's Gold's version of cross fit. It is fun and is kicking my trash. The first day I ended up with 2 welts on my arm from getting slapped by my jump rope. I like being sore and having a new challenge but I am still trying to figure out how to combine it with running.

FHE
I decided to be brave and take the kids on an outing for FHE by myself. It wasn't looking so good at the start. I couldn't get the kids to stop fighting even while we were at the temple. But we did it and after I bought them dinner and shakes at the BYU creamery everyone was happy and glad we did it. We also discovered that the Provo Temple was dedicated in 1972 - a great year!!

Mystery Dinner
This years Halloween Mystery dinner was a total success. I am so happy with how everything turned out and everyone had a blast! The kids all wore costumes, Todd did a fantastic job decorating the house and the food ended up perfect.
Midnight Snack:
Spider webs
Bones
All dressed up
Mummy's Milk
Jack O' Lantern
Just a fun appetizer for the adults to eat while waiting for the kids
Blood and Guts (served with a side of ketchup)
Bloody Faces
Fly Away
Worms
Megan and Clark
All the kids picking their mystery courses
Snacking on a worm
Serving up the "green slime" to the kids
I think Parker ate more than any of the other kids.

Halloween City
The kids and I took a trip to Halloween City to pick out their costumes. I tried hard to get them to do a theme but the boys weren't having it so we just all went and picked out costumes. While we were checking out we found these sweet glasses and couldn't pass them up. With my short hair I look like a man - ha ha ha.
