End of Year Minecraft Party

Tayson and Luke wanted to throw an end of year party.  They chose a minecraft LAN party.  Todd was responsible for getting all the computers set up and ready for the boys and I was in charge of themed treats.  They boys had a blast and now they can't wait until their next party.

molluscum contagiosum

Luke had some crazy spots on his back so I asked George what they were and he said "molluscum contagiosum".  What?  That sounds like some sort of Harry Potter spell.  But apparently he was right and they are very common.  We waited for several months for them to go away.  Luke couldn't take baths and he always wore an undershirt and did a good job keeping them from spreading.  But they weren't going away.  So we finally made an appointment with the dermatologist and got them removed.  It was quite a process getting Luke to calm down but once she started he said it didn't hurt at all.

Family Drive

Since I'm running up Squaw Peak tomorrow morning we decided to take a family drive up the mountain to enjoy the scenery and drop off some water bottles along the way.  The boys decided not to come but I got to hang out in our beautiful canyon with these guys for a while and loved it.  It was really windy at the top.

Todd's New Toy

Todd bought himself a fancy new helicopter.  It might have a little more power than he was expecting.  It flew so high up in the air that he could barely control it.  We had a few sweet crashes too - over the roof, over the fence and a fast crash that almost hit the boys.

Last Day of Preschool

Somebody is all grown up.  I can't believe she is finished with preschool and will be going into kindergarten this year.  How is it possible that my sweet baby is so big already? Soph had a good year at school and when she tries does a great job reading and can write her name.  She loved her teacher so much and was always very excited to go to school. 

 

Zeus

Zeus is always a very calm dog....until the water comes out.  Then all of the sudden he goes crazy and runs around and jumps and bites the water.  It is so much fun!

Mother's Day

 This year wasn't a typical Mother's day for me.  It started at 2:00 am with Sophie throwing up. 

Then Todd had to fly out early so it was just me and the kiddos.  They all gave me their awesome school made pictures and presents.

And they decorated the wall for me.

I am one lucky girl to have these 4 kids call me mom.  

Sophie made me an awesome necklace and wanted me to wear it all day....it was too itchy so it only lasted a few minutes.

Then I got to go to my parent's house for dinner and celebrate with my awesome mama.  I love living so close to my mom and I really love being her daughter.  She is the ultimate example of motherhood to me.  She has endless energy and is completely selfless.  No wonder the Lord trusted her with 10 kids.

Shark Teeth....Oh ah ah

We have been waiting and waiting for Luke's teeth to get loose.  I gave him 4 months and they weren't moving at all.  His permanent teeth were completely grown in so I took him to the dentist to get them removed.  He was freaking out so bad before we even got into the office and really bad on the chair.  He got laughing gas...but that wasn't enough to calm him down.  So the dentist had him close his eyes and talked to him the whole time while he gave him the shot.  Luke couldn't believe he didn't feel it at all.  The best part was when the doc said "hand me the needle nose pliers".  Ha.  But his teeth are out now.  First 2 teeth lost by force just before turning 9. :)

Todd's Birthday

The day started with pancakes and some serious bed head.

We had a big family dinner and strawberry shortcake for desert

And celebrated by going out to dinner and shopping at City Creek.  

I sure do love this guy.  He is so much fun and the best man around.  Happy Birthday Todd!

Mother's Day Program

The guys in Jackson took Todd out for a birthday dinner.  A real southern dinner.  He said it was DELICIOUS and had tons of flavor.  I think it looks kinda gross.  

 

Claire Turns 7

This year was a no friend party year so Claire got to invite 2 friends to go get their nails done and out to eat.  We had some issues with scheduling so we ended up getting main/pedi's at 7:30 pm then going out for desert.  Claire loves being a princess and she had a blast.

She opened a few presents while we waited for our desert to come.  I love The Chocolate.  It's such a fun, fancy little shop so it was a perfect fit for her party. The girls all ordered cookies and a glass of milk.

It was a pretty late night and all the girls were exhausted by the time we got home.  But we drove up to the house we saw this crazy sign that Todd, the boys and the neighbors spray painted.  We loved it.

On Sunday we did our Schultz family party.  Every year we do a Cinco de Mayo party for her with a nacho bar and pinata - this year we got to include Clark in on the tradition. 

Then on Monday - her actual birthday we started the day with birthday pancakes.  She got to take Krispy Kreme donuts to her class and then we went out to eat as a family.  She chose The Golden Corral for her special dinner so I invited Timmy and Megan to join us.  Then she opened the rest of her presents.  She had such a fun birthday and it lasted all weekend long!

I love this beautiful girl so much.  It is crazy to me that she is already 7 and almost finished with first grade. She is growing up way too fast.  She loves Monster High and the Legend of Korra.  She cares about how her hair is fixed (always down straight and long) and what she's wearing.  She loves to sing and dance and is the pickiest eater around.  She is still very stubborn and loves to stay up late at night.  She is such a funny girl.  The other day I came out to the car and she was hanging out of the van door making crazy bird calls.  When I asked her what she was doing she said "I'm talking to that bird and asking him what his name is".  I asked if his name was Robin and she said "no I'm pretty sure he said it's just bird - I'm not that good at speaking bird but I'm pretty sure I know what he's saying".  Maybe being in the Portuguese immersion program isn't the best thing for her.  ha ha ha
