Scooter Ride to Grandma's

Sophie wanted to go on a scooter ride over to grandma and grandpas house.  When we got there she went up in the bathroom and unpacked her purse and brushed her teeth.  What?  She is crazy.  She did some sweet new scooter tricks on the ride too and we always love visiting grandma and grandpa.

Dallas

I went on a trip to Dallas for work.  Most of the 4 days were spent in the hotel convention center talking about our websites.  But I did get a chance to head out to see a little bit of Dallas one night.

JFK Memorial

I also got to be part of doing a morning workout for our distributors with some resistance bands we were selling.  Talk about crazy - I think I'll stick to running and crossfit for now.

Easter

This year we didn't do Easter baskets and I didn't even buy all new outfits for the kids.  We just kept it simple and spent time as a family.  I bought some plastic eggs and 1 small bag of candy for the kids which they loved.  Then after church we dyed eggs - each of the kids got a dozen eggs.  Everytime one cracked Luke or Sophie would eat it up.  My parents were in Peru so we hosted dinner at our house and instead of the traditional ham dinner we bar-b-qued and it was amazing.  I love spring!!

Read or Fold Laundry????

That moment you go in your room with a book dying to sneak a few minutes to read and you realize you purposely put all the clean clothes on your bed to fold and put away. #depressed#bookaholic #momlife

Boston Strong

One year ago I ran the Boston marathon and one year ago the bombs went off.  So today the kids and I wore our Boston gear to celebrate being Boston Strong.  I wish I were running the marathon again this year but instead I will have Boston in my heart.  Until next year...when I run my all-time favorite race again.

Sorry Sophie

This morning I got ready for work and while I was putting on my shoes Sophie said "mama, please don't wear those ugly boy shoes.  please."  She just wants me to wear ballgowns and high heels (slippers as she calls them) and be a princess.  But sadly I'm not that girl.  I wear pants, and ugly boy shoes and I even chopped my hair off again.  Sorry Sophie I promise I'll try harder to be the fancy girly mom you want :)

Driving Home

Well spring break 2014 was just as epic and I hoped it would be.  We hit the road and broke the drive up into 2 days again.  We slept at the Wal-Mart again (hilarious to me) and played Farkel (Claire killed us all) and had a nice easy drive home.  At one point during the drive I spotted Sophie's bum and it had 5 pair of underwear on ....when I asked her why she said everyday on vacation rather than change them she just added a new pair.  Oh Sophie.

The Caves

Our final day we did Jewel Cave and Wind Cave.  Sadly Wind Cave was closed when we got there so we just did the visitor center and the outdoor part (fine with me...being underground that long is creepy).  The kids did the Jr Ranger program again and got lots of badges.

Our Campsite

Camp Welikit - don't think for a minute this is an Indian name like I did....it isn't pronounced "well i kit" like I said it....it's actually said "we like it".  We were the only campers here so it was a very quiet campsite.  There were bathrooms with showers and free wifi and hook ups for the trailer.  Not to mention the fun playground and wild animals that would randomly roam through.  It was absolutely beautiful.

My kind of Camping

Hooray for showers, toilets, beds, wifi and still being able to cook over the fire!

Favorite Childhood Memory

The thing I remember most about when I went to Mt Rushmore as a kid were the wild donkeys.  We would get out of the car and feed them carrots and apples.  We even put Heidi on the back of one when she was a toddler and it took off and bucked her off.  Sorry Heidi.  I was so excited for the wildlife loop and it was just as fun as I remembered it.
