A visit from Grandma

Grandma came to visit us!!  We love visits from grandma.  Some of the things we did over the weekend were go to see the Lorax, eat ribs at Goodwood, go to the Home & Garden Expo and the kids spent lots and lots of time playing board games with her.

The garden: part 1

I feel like I'm reliving last years home improvements.....this year instead of the floors its the backyard.  Phase 1 actually started last year when Todd built raised garden boxes.  There wasn't time or space to plant in them this year so now we start the yard renovation so the boxes can have a home and we can plant a garden.

Sophie: mama can I sleep on your floor?

Me: no. Dads home so you need to sleep in your bed

Sophie: but I don't like my bed

Me: why not?

Sophie: cause I no like flowers

I laughed then let her sleep on my floor. At least she seems to be asleep. The other 3 have been in bed for an hour and I can still hear them playing. Ugh. (March 1)

I know I should be happy that Luke practiced piano twice as long as he had to....but really I am so glad he's finally done. (March 1) 

I just ordered my 2011 blog book! I am so excited for it to come!!! (March 2) 

I've decided I would be a better villain than super hero. (Feb 29) 

I wish this rain were snow. I just want one really big snow storm then winter can be over. (Feb 27) 

I'm working at home today since Sophie isn't 100% better yet and Claire is in her room watching High School Musical on the iPad. She keeps singing along loudly and it is cracking me up. I so love that crazy girl! (Feb 27)

Spring is here.  

It will snow again soon I'm sure but the fact that it's been in the 60's 2 days in a row means Utah spring.

My little bug is the messiest eater.  It drives me crazy but really it's just who she is so I'm trying to accept it :) She always had food in her hair since she won't let me pull her hair back and even when I fix her hair she pulls it out and it ends up in her face.  The good news she loves the same food her mama does.

I was running a bit late picking the kids up from school so they had already started walking home - they usually walk home from school together on Fridays but it was cold so I thought I'd pick them up.  

The boys are really great about picking up Claire and walking her home. When I drove up I saw the 3 of them walking home. Claire didn't have her coat.  When I drove up I saw Tayson carrying her backpack and she was wearing his coat. It warmed my heart to see him taking such good care of his little sister. 

Side note: It was 30 degrees outside and Todd forgot to put her in a coat for school not me :)  

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess

The kids were very excited for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Luke reminded me on a daily basis that it was coming up and that we needed to have green eggs and ham. So I got up and made a hot breakfast for the kids.  I realized when I was getting everything out that I had all colors except green!!  Luke ran over to borrow some from Christine.  Thank goodness she doesn't mind my early morning visitors before school.  

We had ham, green eggs, toast and green protein shakes (vanilla with spinach).  The kids chowed it down.  Well except Claire she was very excited for it on her plate but ended up only eating her toast.  During breakfast we pulled out the iPad and listened to Green Eggs & Ham while we were eating.  The kids loved it.  

I tried so hard to get them to wear their Thing1-4 shirts.  But Tayson said it was embarrassing to wear that shirt.  Luke said he wouldn't get 2 hot tickets if he didn't wear blue or green and Claire said it looked like a boys shirt.  So I gave up on having them dress up.
