Riding to school

Sophie can ride a bike!  It's very exciting and the hope is that it will help her get to school faster.  She tends to stop a lot on her scooter and on Monday all the kids were late for school because they were waiting for her.  I decided to let Luke and Claire go with Glen today and I would help Sophie - she can ride her bike but has a hard time starting when she stops.  We made it about 2 blocks and she stopped and told me her knees hurt and she was too tired to keep going.  She has no problem riding that far if it's to go play at the park or go to grandma's house...for some reason she wears out fast when she's going to school.  I guess we will stick with the scooter for a little longer and she can leave 10 minute earlier!  Silly girl.

Chuck E Cheese Pictures

Every time Sophie goes to Chuck E Cheese she takes her picture and these end up on our fridge.  I wish I had pics from when she was a baby because these crack me up!

Online Shopping

Todd and I were meeting with our designer for the new house when we heard Sophie yell "mom, what's your password I found some new sheets for my bed."  After she left Todd and I went to see what Sophie was up to and saw that she had 50 items in her shopping cart and 104 items on her wish list.  She's a big shopper this one.  She did have Littlest Pet Shop sheets and wall decals in her cart as well as a whole bunch of toys.

My tough girls

The kids have been doing the kids fitness class at our crossfit gym this summer and they love it.  Claire made it to the top of the rope already and has done a pull-up.  I LOVE IT!

Sophie watched a lot of the crossfit games with me so when I told her to get ready for crossfit she put this on.  Silly girl - that's a swim suit top and you aren't allowed to wear it (she has it for the bottoms to go with her rash gaurd tops).  She looks like she means business though!

I love the confidence that crossfit is giving my girls.  Sophie always says stuff like "mom, I gotta get strong and buff"  That's my girl!

Cleaning Sophie's Room

When I was picking up Sophie's room I found a black sharpie and Todd's debit card!!  I also found a check from Christine the other day.  CRAZY GIRL!

New Wardrobe

Today Sophie informed me that now that she is 6 all of her old clothes are ugly and only for 5 year olds.  She refused to put on any clothes today and walked around in undies and her blanket.  I love this crazy girl so much - every day she does something unexpected that just cracks me up!

Life without wifi

Todd is out of town and our wifi router breaks....what do we do now? Esepcially since I am bed ridden all week and it's 100 degrees outside and too hot to go to the park?  Well things got crazy at the Johnson house.  Sure the kids played lots of board games, but that didn't take enough time.  We couldn't watch movies, or play on the computers or devices.  It was an unplanned unplugged week for us.

Sophie came up with a blindfolded makeup challenge.  She and Claire took turns being blindfolded and putting makeup on the other one.  They were laughing so hard and cracking me up.  Sophie is always full of crazy ideas.

Happy Birthday Sophie!

My baby is 6!  She is growing up so fast and loves not being a baby anymore.  The poor girl had to celebrate her birthday with a mom who couldn't get out of bed so it was fairly low key.  My mom came over in the morning and made birthday pancakes for her.  Then we had family over for a bbq dinner, cake and presents.  Lucky for Sophie Emily was in town with her kids so she got to celebrate her birthday with Ella.  Timmy and Megan bought the girls matching dresses and that was by far her favorite present.

4 days later and she is still rocking her b-day dress....

Lost her first 1/2 a tooth....

Tonight in the tub Sophie lost one of her caps.  And no the tooth fairy does NOT visit for caps falling off.  Just what I need right now....oh well.  Luckily the dentist was able to fix it!

Pierced Ears

Claire and I were shopping for some cute jewelry to go with her new baptism dress and she found a pair of earrings that she loved.  So she decided she was ready to get her ears pierced.  She picked out emeralds since that's her birthstone.  There was a teenage girl going before her who kept talking about how freaked out she was and almost crying with her two friends.  It was totally annoying to me since I didn't want Claire to freak out.  But she didn't she sat there and didn't make a peep when they pierced her ears.  I asked Sophie if she wanted hers pierced too and she said no.

Then on a couple of days later Sophie said "mom, I'm ready to be brave like Claire and get my ears pierced".  So we went to the mall and she picked out her earrings.  When she sat in the chair she decided she would wait because she got scared but after a few minutes of talking she decided to be brave again and she got them done.  She was so excited about her cute new pink butterfly earrings.

Sophie:  Party Rockin'
Claire:  Rock Lobster

The girls did a great job again this year with their dances.  It's not easy to do 5 performances in 2 days but they did an amazing job in every show.  Keep shakin' those booties girls!

Sophie's Spring Scooter Ride

Sophie never ceases to crack me up.  Todd fixed up the kids bikes tonight and all went out for bike rides.  Luke and Claire rode over to grandma and grandpa's house - took a break on the lawn then rode back.  They didn't even go in and say hi.  Silly kids.  Sophie felt left out so I told her I would go with her to grandma's house so she could practice riding her scooter.  She told me she needed to "pack some stuff" before we could go.  I assumed she was just putting a big flower on her head and some lip gloss in her purse.  When we got half way to grandma's house she stopped and said "I need to brush my teeth really fast" and pulled out her toothbrush.  I told her she couldn't brush her teeth on the sidewalk so we kept going.  As soon as we got to grandma's house she said "ok I'm going to have a piece of pie then brush my teeth".  Sadly, there was no pie yet (Sophie gets to go bake pie with my mom today after school) but she did brush her teeth.  My mom and I were cracking up at her.  She even packed floss.  Then when she was done we headed home.  I don't know where she gets her crazy ideas from but I love it.

On the way home she was practicing some new moves too.  She is so much faster and more stable on her scooter now.  She even rode to school today without stopping!

Scooter Ride to Grandma's

Sophie wanted to go on a scooter ride over to grandma and grandpas house.  When we got there she went up in the bathroom and unpacked her purse and brushed her teeth.  What?  She is crazy.  She did some sweet new scooter tricks on the ride too and we always love visiting grandma and grandpa.

Driving Home

Well spring break 2014 was just as epic and I hoped it would be.  We hit the road and broke the drive up into 2 days again.  We slept at the Wal-Mart again (hilarious to me) and played Farkel (Claire killed us all) and had a nice easy drive home.  At one point during the drive I spotted Sophie's bum and it had 5 pair of underwear on ....when I asked her why she said everyday on vacation rather than change them she just added a new pair.  Oh Sophie.

Moroni and the Mayor

I am lucky to work right next to where the new Provo City Center Temple is being built.  It was so sad to watch the Tabernacle burn down but has been so amazing to watch it become a temple.  Because I work at Nu Skin we got front row seats to see Moroni being placed on top.  Kami dropped off Sophie and Glen after school too.

Provo's mayor John Curtis was watching from the Nu Skin building where we were so when he came over to say hello I introduced Sophie to him.  I told her how he was the one who was responsible for our new rec center and getting us Google fiber.  Then they had a lengthy conversation about the band-aid on his thumb and how he got it and did it bleed and she showed him her injured finger nail.  It was hilarious.  He's a great mayor and an even better person.  When Sophie got home she told the other kids all about meeting the mayor - but forgot to mention she got to watch Moroni get placed on top of the temple.

I love being greeted by Moroni every morning as I walk into work....and I find myself singing "High on the Mountain Top" almost every day :)

Oh Sophie

There is never a dull moment with Soph around.

She asked to hold Lincoln and after about 5 seconds said "ok I'm done"

She decided to make a sign in sheet for her room based on age.  So far she is the only who has filled her section.  I love that she signs in for her own room.

When I dropped her off at school last week she ended up with a mustache on.  I'm not sure what her teacher said or the other kids but she was excited to wear a purple mustache at school and I sure wasn't going to tell her no.  I love that she is so silly :)
