Flashback Friday

Why I hate fish...

As long as I can remember I have hated fish. Why you ask? I believe it all stems back to this point in my childhood when my dad stuck this disgusting fish in my face. Probably not. But, honestly that fish is so gross.

I hate swimming in open water because I'm afraid that a fish will touch me. The night before a triathlon I have nightmares about fish in the water, not wrecking my bike or tripping on the run, or missing the race all together, just that there are fish lurking below me in the dark water waiting to nibble on my toes. YUCK!

I have been to some beautiful places and snorkeled with amazing tropical fish and all I can think of when I'm in the water is that I hope a fish doesn't touch me. I have even gotten mad at Todd for making the fish "attack" me when they swim towards me. Yes I realize this is silly and the fish aren't going to do anything to me but I really am freaked out by them.

Don't you love my dad's sweet glasses in this picture? And honestly I had no hair when I was a kid, I'm probably 2 years old in this picture and still not enough for a pig tail. Sad. At least my sweet Claire has hair and doesn't take after her mom.

For Twilight Fans

This video is great. I got it on my friend Kyla's blog and I agree that it says it all with the whole New Moon Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle. Take my poll on who you would rather Bella be with Edward or Jacob.

All the Small Things

Shopping with Heidi and Kami: During lunch one day this week we met at the mall to get Heidi some new clothes. It was so much fun and Heidi got some great new items.

Last week of School: I can't believe it's here but school is out now for Tayson. I love how excited Tayson is about being finished.

4 Day Work Week: What else do I have to say? This week has flown by thanks to Memorial Day on Monday.

1 Kid in Diapers: Yes I am elated that Luke only wears diapers to bed now and has only had 1 accident this week (and it was when I was at work). And Claire is still very excited and interested in the potty.

My Calling: Last week Todd and I substituted in Primary and holy cow am I glad that I don't teach Primary right now. :) One of the little boys kept trying to see my baby by looking up my dress and I missed being with the women in RS.

Forgiving Kids: I'm not the most patient person to start with and when you tag on 8 months of pregnancy and a husband working late a few nights my patience is pretty much non-existent. Sadly for my beautiful children they are the first ones to feel my temper when it's all too much. Luckily for me they are so forgiving and never stay mad at me when I snap at them. Even after a bad night together they will give me a huge hug and kiss at the end of the day and tell me how much they love me. I swear I don't deserve the kids I have because they are so sweet and loving even when I'm grumpy. Tayson will even say things like "it's ok mom it's just the baby". This week I am so grateful for my kids and the fact that they love me just the way I am and can forgive within a minute. I hope I can be as loving as they are when someone is mean to me.

Last Day of School

I can't believe Tayson is finished with Kindergarten! The year has gone by so fast and he has learned so much. I'm excited for our new school next year but I have loved Westridge and his teacher was so great. We got his final report yesterday and he meets expectations in everything and he can even rhyme (this was a challenge the first half of the year for him). Not everyday was easy, most mornings he didn't want to get dressed, eat breakfast and leave the house. He wanted to hang out in his pj's and play Lego Starwars. But once we got him moving he was always excited to leave for the bus stop and had fun while he was at school.

Today was field day and he was so excited for school. I actually had to keep him busy so that he didn't go to the bus stop 30 minutes early today. He wanted to wear his "racing" clothes so he wore his special number shirt from last Thanksgiving and his running shoes. This morning we did stretches to get him ready and he even had to drink gatorade with his breakfast. He was cracking me up. I can't believe my little boy is so grown up and is about to turn six.

Pretty New Bows

Yesterday I got a package from my SIL Amy with a bag of hair bows that she and her friend made (I'm so jealous...I have no skills for crafts!!!) Claire was so excited this morning when I showed her the bag of bows. She carried them around all morning then when Chelsea got to our house she had Chelsea put one in her hair then continued giving her all the bows until she had every one of them in her hair. She is so funny.

Thanks for the sweet hair bows Amy they were a big hit!

I need a new book

After reading The Host by Stephenie Meyers I was in need of a Twilight fix so I thought it would be a good time to re-read the series in preparation for Breaking Dawn coming August 2nd. Yes, I did this every time a new Harry Potter book came out too. I have to re-read all previous books to make sure I'm in the right mode before starting a new one in a series (possible OCD).

Sadly, I finished all 3 books last week because once again I couldn't put them down even though I've already read them all twice before. I'm sure Todd thinks I'm a bit crazy. But, now I can't find anything I want to read and I really need a new book. Any suggestions?

Flashback Friday

Senior year 1990. Need I say more? I've put in all three outfit changes too just for even more laughs.

The serious look with sweet MC Hammer pants and nice big hair.

Check out the bracelets, swatch watch, shoulder pads, crazy earrings, and the sweet CTR ring on my pinkie finger (yep the green one)and it's not pictured but I had on sweet acid wash Guess Jeans with the zippers at the bottom.

And of course the dressy picture. The best part about this picture is that once again I'm wearing hand-me-downs as you can see from Sherry's senior picture below. The best part is that at my Grandpa Schultz's house he had both of our dressy pictures hanging up side by side.

Sherry's senior picture 1988.
