Flashback Friday - Roadtrip

Sherry in the back of the Cav

This was on our way back to BYU after being home for the summer. Sherry, Steve and I all went back with all our stuff and as you can see there was NO room left in the car. The best part was that when we brought our stuff out my dad was not happy with how much stuff we were bringing and in order to get it all to fit in the car he had to shove our shoes in all the small crevices in the trunk. I remember how mad Sherry and I were that he was doing that - hilarious now.

Another funny thing is that the Cavalier had no A/C so we had to ride with the windows down. As you can see this made for great hair and improvised hair accessories.

That awesome luggage was my high school graduation present. I still have some of the set. :)

Flashback Friday - Sofa Chic

My Freshman year at BYU I met some fellas and after their missions they decided to start a band. I was one of their top fans (perhaps the #1 fan...but Kristine might have beat me on that one since she married one of them.) I never missed a show and even got to play the tambourine sometimes. I was usually with the band. I couldn't have asked for better friends.

Several times when I was walking down the streets or on campus I would hear people say "hey Sofa chic". It was so dang funny to me. I was scanning in a bunch of pictures for their group in Facebook today and just cracking up over all the fun memories.

So here are a few pictures of the good old days when I was cool enough to be in the Provo band scene.

Yep that's me playing the tambourine.
Was I cool or what?

Flashback Friday - Disco Lives

For some reason I absolutely LOVE disco. Just this morning I was blasting my disco CD in spin. It just keeps me rockin'. So I thought I would dedicate this flashback to a few of my disco pictures.

This was my 25th birthday party.
It was a disco theme since I was born in the 70's
Don't you just love that we all had polyester leisure suits?
Man I loved that yellow one - it was my favorite.

Flashback Friday - 1991

I decided to break free of baby pictures (which was very hard in my current state) and go with some college memories.

In the fall of 1991 I was starting my sophomore year at BYU and decided to room with 3 of my friends from the dorms (Jodi, Alicia and Melissa). The only place we could find for the 4 of us was at the Glenwood apartments. We were lucky enough to get 2 other great roommates (Alice and her sister Shannon). We lived in Glenwood #101 and it was a fun year. I worked at Stevenette's Malt Shoppe that year while going to school and left after fall semester to take some time off.

Me, Melissa and Jodi having cake for my 19th birthday. Jodi and Melissa were in the dorms with me freshman year.

The Mesa Runner. Melissa brought her bike up to school and it just sat in our front room, I don't remember her riding it once. So we got fed up with it always sitting there and thought we would play a trick so we took pictures of the bike and put up ads to buy the bike all over the Glenwood. Apparently this was a bad idea since we got so many calls and Melissa was pretty mad at us. Oops!

Alice and I posing for a picture. Alice always had the brightest lipstick to show off her gorgeous lips so I thought I would try some out with her. Doesn't look as good on me as it did on her. Don't you love her notes in the background on how to have a happy household? Like that is possible with 6 girls living together in cramped quarters.

Alice and Jodi carving pumpkins. I put this picture in to show the sweet outfits of 1991. You've gotta love the matching polka dot headband and shirt or the sweet plaid look!
