Dance Concert
Dance concert weekend is always crazy! The kids each had a 30 minute class dress rehearsal, class pictures and a full dress rehearsal during the week. The 5 performances in 2 days. Sophie was completely exhausted all weekend but she hung in there and did all 5 dances. It was so much fun having 3 kids in the concert and I absolutely loved watching them every time. The entire show was so well done - it was a Rivals theme and I love dance. Sophie did a bathtime number to "Splish Splash". Claire did a soldiers number to "Party Rock Anthem" and Luke did a video gamer number to "Game Over".

Claire's Dance Concert
I am a little too excited about the fact that my little Claire Bear is in dance. I love dancing and danced from 3 years old until I was 20 including lots of dance classes at BYU. And that doesn't count all the dance parties I have in the car and at home with the kids :)
The studio Claire dances at had 5 performances over the weekend. Friday night at 6 & 8 then again Saturday at 3, 6 & 8. I went to all 5 performances and loved every minute of it. Timmy, Heidi, Annabell and Lilly came to the Saturday show with us. My parents and Luke and Sophie came to the 6:00 Saturday show and Todd, Jan and Tayson came to the Saturday 8:00 show. Claire loved the attention and did a great job in all her dances. I was a little nervous that she would get tired and not go out towards the end but she was too excited to be dressed up and wearing makeup to get tired. It was a crazy busy weekend but I absolutely loved it!

Flashback Friday
The first installment of flashback Friday's is here. This is going to be harder than I thought...there are so many pictures and so many memories to relive and document. I've lived a fun filled life.
A big part of my childhood was dancing. I started dance when I was 3 or 4 years old (my mom can't remember exactly. I'm the 4th child details are all gone at this point). I danced until I was 20 years old and taught dance at "Anne for Dance" from the time I was 15 years old in order to pay for costumes and competitions. All through High School I danced 5 days a week - every night except Friday and on Saturday mornings. My favorite's were jazz, tap, kick line and lyrical but I also did ballet and pointe. Some of my most memorable times dancing were when I was 15 and we danced on the Sammy Davis Jr telethon in St. Louis (I even met him) and when we went to a nationals competition in Myrtle Beach (my senior year). I loved dancing and now I can't wait to put Claire in dance lessons. Here are some fun pictures of a few different dance events.

This was in 1985 - notice the sweet feathered front and long back in my hair (trust me it was cool in Missouri back then). Another sure sign of the 80's in this photo if you look very closely half way up my right calf you can see I have a sweet anklet underneath my tights
This was the height of my dance career. In 1990 at the end of my senior year I competed and won a Tremaine Dance Scholarship (just to one of his Conventions not college or anything important). It was such a great feeling and a month after this I left for Paris for 4 months and only danced on and off for the next 3 years before I stopped completely, unless you count dance clubs during college
