6th Annual Pumpkin Carving

Once again we had a great night of eating and carving pumpkins. Finding a day this year was quite a challenge since there wasn't a single night everyone could come and we had to go without mom and dad but I got a HUGE surprise when Todd came home early since he managed to catch an early flight.

We decided to have Navajo tacos for dinner with Steve's homemade chili and they were delicious and Kami brought her super yummy pumpkin bars as usual and they did not disappoint.

Don't they look excited for pumpkin carving?

Claire was running a fever so she had to stay

Tayson wanted 2 stick figures with one pushing

5th Annual Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza

The best night of the year - Schultz Family Pumpkin Carving FHE. This year we had 27 people at our house (of course that includes several babies who didn't help carve).

We moved the couches and table and taped down some picnic table clothes to make room for everyone. Steve made Chili and Kami brought Pumpkin Bars....we ate and carved our hearts out.

My mom helped Claire carve her pumpkin. The best part was that when my mom cut out the eyes Claire tried putting them back in like they were a puzzle. I love the pumpkin design because I think every pumpkin I ever carved as a kid was this design.

This has nothing to do with pumpkin carving...but isn't

Sophie just so dang cute!

Some of us take our carving VERY seriously. Yes, Trent is using a
measuring tape to make sure his lines are the right length.

Some of us use templates for our designs.
I can't carve a pumpkin without one!

And here they are...

4th Annual Pumpkin Carving

Last night we had our annual pumpkin carving FHE. It started 4 years ago with Jeannie, Trent, Todd, Tayson and I and has grown every year. This year was by far the biggest.

Grandpa was in charge of Lexie's pumpkin - and she wanted one with 2 bats. As you can see one of the bats came off from a few wrong cuts with the knife. Good thing grandpa is so good with toothpicks. Don't worry we can barely see them when it's dark.

The kids had a blast carving, eating and playing. I think Tayson ate 8 pumpkin bars last night!!! Claire didn't do anything but walk around and pretend to shoot us with her gun.

Some sweet shots of everyone working hard on their pumpkins. I took lots of pictures because Luke and I won for the fastest pumpkin - his was very simple and easy. :)

And the final product. Thank goodness most of these will not be on my porch for the rest of the week. What would I do with all those pumpkins!!!
