molluscum contagiosum

Luke had some crazy spots on his back so I asked George what they were and he said "molluscum contagiosum".  What?  That sounds like some sort of Harry Potter spell.  But apparently he was right and they are very common.  We waited for several months for them to go away.  Luke couldn't take baths and he always wore an undershirt and did a good job keeping them from spreading.  But they weren't going away.  So we finally made an appointment with the dermatologist and got them removed.  It was quite a process getting Luke to calm down but once she started he said it didn't hurt at all. 

My Poor Girls

Last night both girls were up quite a bit in the night crying with sore throats and medicine didn't seem to help much so this morning we headed over to Instacare.  Both girls have strep.  Thank goodness they do the shot so we don't have to deal with 10 days of medicine while traveling.  And the shot works wonders - they were feeling so much better by the time they went to bed and were good to go this morning.

Worst Smell Ever!

While we were up seeing the lights Claire kept complaining about her tummy hurting.  She made it home at least then a few hours after bed she threw up everywhere.  It was so gross and then to cover up the smell Todd grabbed this scent.  It was soooooooo disgusting combined together.  Truly one of the worst smells ever!!!

You've got to be kidding

Today was quite a day. It was so bad it's simply laughable. I've been working a huge project at work for the past few months. We completely redesigned our US website and it has been quite an undertaking. I've had to work long hours late into the night for the past few weeks. Then Todd got a new job and is in California for training. He'll spend 2 days at home over a 3 week period (only 8 more days until he's home). On top of the website redesign this week is our global convention at work and since we're celebrating 25 years it has been huge and there have been lots and lots of extra projects.

So Today was the big launch at 10:00 am. At 8:20 this morning Claire threw up. She begged me to stay home with her today but that was just impossible. Meggan said it was quite a day and she was sick all day. Around 3:30 pm I noticed my right hand was achy and that my arm was red and swollen where my burn is (I burned my arm on the minivan exhaust last Saturday reaching under the car for a run away tissue). I called the doctor's office and hurried over there to find out that I have cellulitis.

The best part is that for 10 years I've been making fun of Todd since he's had it 4 times. Twice since we've been married. I'd never even heard of cellulitis until I met him and he was actually hospitalized for it when he was a kid. When the doctor told me what it was I just laughed. When I explained to him that I deserved to have this because of all my teasing he laughed along with me.

It has been quite a rollercoaster of events in the house. I guess when it rains it pours. At least I know that it's raining blessings on me too.
