Tennis
I have decided that tennis would be the perfect sport for Claire. Based on the following reasons. 1 - cute outfits. 2 - individual sport. 3 - being left handed is an advantage. So when they put courts in by our house I was very excited. So I signed her up for a 2 week class with Provo city and bought her 3 new outfits. She loves it.
On the first day there weren't enough kids in the class so I signed up Luke too. And he loves it too!

Final Swim Meet
The boys both swam in the bronze meet. We got there and they warmed up for a half hour then just like last year a storm blew in and we had over an hour of waiting time because of lightning. We took the kids over to the school playground while we waited in the rain. Then the meet started. I couldn't believe how hot it was the minute the rain stopped. Tayson swam free, fly and breast stroke. Luke swam free, back and breast stroke. Tayson was heat winner for both free and fly and got DQ'd for doing 2 underwater kicks at the start (which we didn't know was a rule). Luke did great in his free and was leading the back until he hit the side and took a close 2nd in his heat. He got DQ'd on his breast stroke too for his arms going below his belly button. Almost every kid swimming got disqualified in the breast stroke - the guy was brutal if you ask me. I was a bit annoyed that they weren't consistent throughout the summer but I respect the judges in the end.

Basketball
Basketball was better and worst this year. Better because Tayson played better and seemed to have more fun. Worse because for the majority of the games Todd was traveling so I had to go by myself with all 4 kids and Sophie was crazy. At the last game Claire started to get sick with a fever and actually fell asleep on my lap while Sophie ran wild and I had to keep chasing her while holding Claire and at one point she had a wallet next to me and pulled out all the cash before I realized that she had found it (it ended up being the guy sitting 2 rows behind me on the bleachers).
In his game last week Tayson even grabbed a rebound, dribbled it all the way to the other side and then made a basket. It was awesome!

GO Team USA!
I cannot get enough of the Olympics. I LOVE the summer games there are so many great events to watch. Some of my favorites are swimming, track and field, cycling, triathlon, gymnastics, and basketball. Todd wants to watch ping pong this year to get some new moves for playing at my parent's house too.
Did you see the men's 4x100 swimming relay yesterday? It was so amazing. We were up on our feet yelling at the TV cheering on our boys and it was such a sweet win. I didn't realize how much our kids watch cartoons until we booted them from watching TV and took over the tivo to record as many events as we can.

The RedX Volleyball Team
Todd was on a city league co-ed volleyball team this year. They played hard and were a blast to cheer on. They ended up 4th in the tournament - which is great because there were some really good teams (the team that took second had 5 of 6 players who played in college). They did beat the team they were really going for though and gave the 3rd place team a serious run for the money. We had a really fun team - Todd, Candice (also from RedX), Lauren (David's friend), Lisa (Lauren's friend), David (my brother), and Collin (David's friend - who looks like a serial killer of some sort with that crazy long beard).
This year Todd has played softball now volleyball and next is basketball. The kids and I love going to the games and being the really annoying cheering squad with Kami. Actually, the boys usually go play out in the hall - but Claire claps and cheers the whole time.
