Daddy/Daughter Hike

 For Claire's very first achievement days activity she went on a Daddy/Daughter hike to Battlecreek. 

Just because

Today after work I ran home fast to pick up Tayson for basketball practice then headed back to crossfit for the second time.  I didn't do the WOD again instead I went to finish off the 30,000 meter row challenge.  I had 9,000 meters left and I wanted to finish what I started.  It took me a good 50 minutes.  When Tayson and I walked in the house after a long day these flowers were on the table and Todd was starting a load of wash.  I asked him what they were for and he said "just because I haven't bought you flowers in a long time".  I sure did get lucky when I found this guy!!!

My Big Strong Man

I love that Todd and I are doing crossfit together.  I love it.  We don't always workout at the same time - but when we do it's a blast.  I love seeing how strong he is.  Our gym is like a family and everyone cheers each other on and the support and friendships are the best.  Todd got his deadlift PR (325 lbs) today at the gym and seriously he is just so strong!! 

14 Years

14 years ago this guy took me to the Salt Lake Temple and married me for time and all eternity.  I love him even more now than I did back then.  I've learned the difference between being "in love" and "true love" and I know that will only continue to grow.  It takes work on both of our parts and the more we work to serve and love each other the better things get.  I can't imagine anyone taking better care of me or being able to deal with how crazy I am.  He is the most supportive hubby of all my parties, and running, and crossfit and whatever else I throw at him.  I sure do love you Todd and I am so grateful that we have all of eternity to spend together!

Todd's Surgery

Todd finally decided to get his deviated septum fixed.  It ended up being a very long day of him in surgery.  His recovery was really fast and he even flew out of town 4 days post-surgery.  Hopefully this will help him breath better and not snore so much :)

Field Trip Time

Todd went as a chaperone on a field trip to the Timpanogos Story Telling Festival with Luke's class.  We sure do love it when he's home during the week!!

Father's Day

My kids are pretty darn lucky to have Todd as their dad.  He is amazing and takes very good care of us.  This year he had to fly out to Jackson early in the morning (he left the house around 5:00 am) so we didn't really get to celebrate the day with him.  But really maybe it's more relaxing to be hanging out at the airport and hotel anyway - just kidding.   

This is one of my favorite pictures of the early days of fatherhood. We got baptism by fire with Tayson so patience and hard work being part of parenting came on fast.  Rather than give up computer time Todd just learned how to play while bouncing on the exercise ball with Tayson in his arms. 

And I am pretty dang lucky that I have an amazing dad.  This is my all-time favorite picture of me and my dad.  I posted this on Instagram saying "Happy Father's Day to my dad!  He's the reason I hate fish.  Love you dad!"  And it's all true I really do hate fish and swimming in open water for the fear of fish. 

Since Todd wasn't home to help the boys with their ties my dad helped them when we got to church.  I had to snap a pic because I thought it was very cute.  I love living so close to my parents.

I got to make and host Father's day dinner too - so I made 5 pans of enchiladas.  4 different kids:  red, white, green and roasted veggie.  They were SOOOO GOOD!

My Man

Todd found a sweet chain in the car so he put it on and went old school on me.  Oh how I love this guy!

Todd's New Toy

Todd bought himself a fancy new helicopter.  It might have a little more power than he was expecting.  It flew so high up in the air that he could barely control it.  We had a few sweet crashes too - over the roof, over the fence and a fast crash that almost hit the boys. 

Todd's Birthday

The day started with pancakes and some serious bed head.

We had a big family dinner and strawberry shortcake for desert

And celebrated by going out to dinner and shopping at City Creek.  

I sure do love this guy.  He is so much fun and the best man around.  Happy Birthday Todd!

Todd's Birthday Dinner

The guys in Jackson took Todd out for a birthday dinner.  A real southern dinner.  He said it was DELICIOUS and had tons of flavor.  I think it looks kinda gross.  

 

West Side Story

 I love date night when we have tickets to Capitol Theater.  Buying season tickets has been great. We decided to try a new place for dinner - J. Wong's - it was delicious. And the show was fun.  Not my favorite but still a great date!

While mom's away... .

I got to spend the day manning this booth at the Women's Expo.

When I got home Todd showed the me the project he worked on....what in the world?  How is that something that should be in a bedroom?  Luckily we all agreed it was a bit big and it ended up downstairs in the play room.  

Work Trip

I had to take a quick 2 day trip to Vegas for a meeting.  And we had some free time between all-day meetings to hit a show on the strip too.

Todd's Checkup

Todd decided it was time to get a good old Colonoscopy.  Everything checked out and he's healthy...just a bit of infection (colitis I think) and some stretched out pockets.  But all in all he's a healthy fella.  Thank goodness.

Date Night

Dreamgirls was awesome.  The music and story was a blast and my date was pretty awesome too!

13 Years

13 years ago I married the most amazing man.  He loves me despite my faults and makes me laugh every day.   I love who we are becoming the longer we are together - we make each other better people.  We spent our anniversary driving to California in a minivan with 4 kids - because that's what 13 years of marriage will do to you.  I sure do love you Todd!!

Nano Tank

Todd finally got a new salt water tank.  It's a tiny little nano tank which is perfect for us right now.  It doesn't require a lot of time and effort but it is very relaxing to just sit and look at it.  He has 3 small fish right now in it.

Eggs

Tonight for dinner I let the kids pick anything they wanted.  Sophie wanted eggs cooked in the special pan.  I hate cooking eggs in this pan.  It is tiny and hard to scramble eggs in.  This pan came from one of Todd's trips to the grocery store for me.  I love it when he comes home with random stuff - like this egg pan.
