50 Years

50 years ago my parents got married.  June 18, 1964.  They had a double wedding with my Aunt Carol.  When I was a kid there was a cute white book with all these wedding pictures inside and I loved looking at their wedding day.  I love how young and happy they are.  I love my tall, skinny dad with his full head of hair and glasses.  I love everything about this special day.  My parent's are an amazing example of love and family and what is most important in life.  Even 50 years later these two have so much fun together and work side by side and love the same stuff and are still visibly in love.  I am so grateful to be their daughter and I am so grateful to live so close to them so I can learn from their example on how to be a good wife and parent.  These two really do know what's up.  Today when Sophie saw the picture she couldn't get over how young my mom was and she said "she is so beautiful"  then followed it up with "I hope you and daddy are married for 50 years someday".  I hope so too bug .... 50 years and many more after that.

Happy Pi Day

For Pi Day my mom picked up Sophie after school to help her bake a cherry pie.  Sophie loves baking with her grandma so much.   And I love that my dad knew how much I would want pictures of the event so he took these and sent them to me!!

Mom's Facebook

This may be the best facebook thread ever.  I love everything about this.  I went on facebook and found this very detailed message posted by my mama.  So I texted her and said "mom you left me off your post"  she was sure she didn't until she went and looked again.  So I got my very own post.  It was so awesome!

Sophie and her Grandma

Sophie and my mom are two peas in a pod.  They are both so fun and free spirited.  My mom helped me out by watching her today so of course they made cookies.  Sophie loves baking with grandma.  It's more fun to bake with grandma because my mom doesn't freak out about her putting things in when the butter isn't completely creamed or get mad that she sticks her fingers in the bowl during the mixing (like me).  Nope they just smile and bake cookies. And I love that they both have on fun shirts and they love these shirts. Seriously, I love these two gals!!  Sophie is one lucky girl to have her soul sister living so close by.

Flashback Friday - Grandma Jo

With all that has gone on with sweet baby Josephine I have been thinking a lot about my grandma Jo who she is named after. So this is the perfect week to post some pictures of Grandma Jo.

Grandma is on the right.
I have no idea where she is in this picture or who she is with - but I love this picture

Check out that fish. Go Grandma!

Great-Grandpa George and Grandma
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that she has her hair in curlers in this picture. Classic

Grandma and my dad.
I think grandma looks so fancy in this picture and my dad looks so young!

This picture is hilarious to me.
She doesn't look happy at all and she isn't dressed for tropical weather.
Oh how I love and miss you grandma.

This is my dad's "motorcycle".
I found a sweet picture of my mom and dad on it....coming later.
