The Dirt

I let the kids change into their play clothes after church and told them we would be heading back to church for Kelly to get set apart after dinner. I laughed so hard when I saw how dirty these 3 got. I have never seen Claire that dirty before.

More fun on the Farm

Sunday after church the kids hit the swing again. Look how high Audrey is. She is fearless.

The kids waiting in line patiently for their turn

Then George took the kids blackberry picking at a bush down the street so Todd and Trent decided to try out the swing. Worked like a charm.

The kids each got a cup and I had a bucket. George taught them the technique for picking blackberries and we all ate more than we brought back.

Night Run

When Sherry and I get together (which isn't nearly enough) we love to go on a run together. We had to figure out a time to fit in a run in a very packed weekend but we did it. While the party was still going Saturday night Sherry told me it was time to go....I had just eaten A LOT of very delicious food and it didn't sit well the first 4 miles but I didn't end up puking which was good. I wasn't planning on running at night since I always run in the morning I packed an all black running outfit (not the smartest decision since it was dark for more than half of our run). Cody told us about a good 8 mile loop and it was quite an adventure - towards the end we were on a very busy highway in the pitch black with no shoulder running as fast as we could single file (well as fast as I could I know Sherry can run faster than that). We had on full makeup, jewelry and I had a blinged out bobby pin in my hair. It was a classic run. I loved it!!

Medford: The drive, rafting and party

We decided for Labor Day to make the trip to Medford to party with Kelly and be there for his setting apart to be a missionary. The trip was so much fun. I took the kids out of school on Friday and we left first thing Friday morning. In my car we had: me, Timmy, Tayson, Claire & Sophie. My dad's car had: dad, David, Glen & Luke. The drive took 13 hours and the last 6 hours of windy mountain roads weren't pretty. Sophie threw up non-stop for 6 hours. I finally did the unthinkable and pulled her out of her carseat and put her on my lap wrapped in a blanket so I could comfort her and catch the puke better. As soon as we got out of the car she was eating pizza and running around like crazy. I guess I should be glad she wasn't sick and that it was just motion sickness. Todd flew into Medford from DC late Friday night.

Then Saturday morning we headed back to George's house for a delicious breakfast of fresh farm eggs, potatoes, etc. Then we hit the river. We rented 3 big rafts and rafted down the Rogue River. I wish I had pictures - it was SO MUCH FUN! The boys were absolutely crazy and the kids cried every time the freezing cold "Oregon water" hit them but everyone had a blast. At one point this other raft was shooting us with big squirt guns and then we surrounded them and splashed them until they were soaked - Tayson yelled "that's why you don't mess with the Schultz's we are big!" It was classic. There was a lot of raft wars and splashing and tackling, and jumping off rocks and rowing and laughing. After rafting we all got ready for the bar-b-que celebrating Kelly.

The man of honor

George was such a great uncle - he spent hours swinging the kids

Is she not the cutest thing ever on this swing?

The food was delicious and the company was amazing. Of course there was an abundance of Schultz shirts present too.
