Timmy's Birthday

For Timmy's birthday he requested funfetti cupcakes in an ice cream cone.  He saw them on pinterest and they looked like fun to make.  They were actually quite time consuming - but turned out really cute.   Plus he is totally worth all the work.

Timmy's Wedding

I'm not sure how to put into words what Timmy's wedding means to me.  Timmy has lived with me for almost 6 years - he is part of our family.  More than just my little brother.  My kids don't know life without him so there will be lots of adjustments for all of us.  I couldn't be happier for him.  This is what I have always wanted for him.  Megan is absolutely perfect in every way.  She makes him so happy and I love her so much.  It's a good thing that she lives in Salt Lake so that I had time to get used to him being gone before the wedding.  I'll admit that I cried a lot on his wedding day.  But it was all because I am just so happy for them.  I went into the "ugly cry" so many times but most of the day I was just weepy. 

I sure do love you little brother!!

The Reception

 The reception was amazing. Everything went perfectly and Timmy and Megan beamed the entire time.  I love how happy they both are.  There are soooo many great pictures so I just picked a few of my favorites.  And these are just from our camera - the ones Jen took are way better and I will for sure add some of them once I get them.

New Year's Eve

What a day today was.  

Timmy took Megan on a walk and proposed to her.  WOO HOO!!!  I am seriously so excited to for them to get married.  And if Megan can survive the week with us in close quarters of Brianhead she will do just fine in the Schultz family.

The other thing that happened is that while skiing Roman fell of the ski lift.  He fell more than 25 feet down and was taken to the Cedar City hospital.  It was so scary being at the cabin and not really knowing how bad it was or what we could do to help.  My parents went to the hospital to help give Roman blessing and bring the other boys back.  Roman had fluid in his lungs a tear in his liver and couldn't walk.  Talk about some serious prayers going on.  He was released the next afternoon and on his way home and now less than a week later you'd never know anything happened.  I saw him climbing the stairs happy as could be.  I am so grateful that nothing permanent happened and that he's such a strong kid.  

Other fun things that happened:  Claire started running a fever and Sophie threw up until about 2:00 am.  UGH!

Timmy's Birthday

Happy birthday to my awesome brother! I think I made him late for work because I made him sit down and have birthday pancakes with me and the kids. It's really one of the only Schultz birthday traditions we have (unless you count singing Happy Birthday as loud and slow as possible a tradition....)


I let him pick whatever dinner he wanted (he chose Beef Stroganoff) and then I invited everyone over for cake and ice cream to celebrate with him. I am super lucky to have him living with me especially since I get so bored and need adult conversations during the week when Todd is gone. I love having him around since we both love to eat at the same spots and we love shopping. Happy happy birthday little brother!

Provo Triathlon

Today Todd and Timmy did the Provo Triathlon. It's always fun to get to go and cheer them on instead of having the stress of doing the event. They both did such a great job today.


Timmy wanted to beat 1:30 in the sprint distance and came in at 1:24 taking 5th in his age group. He kicked it in so strong at the end and his run was under 8:00 min/mil




Todd had a great race. He did the Olympic distance and finished in 2:53. He averaged over 20 mph on the bike and right around 9:00 min/miles. He was awesome and looked so great so the whole time. I was so proud of him. He took 3rd in his age group. Way to go babe!!!










I really love watching Todd race. It makes me happy that we both love to race and do events.

Flashback Friday - Timmy

Sunday is Timmy's birthday so I thought I would dedicate today's flashback to him. I was in junior high when he was born and got to be in the room when he was born. I remember after he was born my dad had to work in the morning so he switched me beds and I slept in the room with my mom and Timmy. He was the sweetest baby ever. He would only take naps if someone laid down next to him (I guess that's what happens when you're #9). So when we would put him down for his naps we would lay there until he fell asleep and then put this big huge teddy bear down next to him so he wouldn't know we were gone. I remember so many times that my dad would go to put him down for naps and then Timmy would come out and my dad would take a nap.

When he was little if you asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he would say a clown or hair dresser or artist - then he would tell you that he was going to live with my parents forever. (Lucky for me living with me is just as good as staying with them.) He loved playing with our hair and brushing it. I would always put my hair over the back of the couch when I was watching TV and he would sit there and brush it for so long. It was the best. He still loves hair and always fixes Claire's hair.

This is my all time favorite story about Timmy. When he was 2 or 3 he was taking a bath in the upstairs bathroom and I was walking up the stairs and saw our cat perched on the top step sitting very still. Then Timmy got out of the bath and was running naked into his room to get dressed and that cat pounced. She put one claw in each butt cheek and ran with her back legs along with him. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!
P.S. he deserved what he got....he was so mean to that cat :)

This was my bedroom in the basement. I love that I had wood panel walls (if you could see the top you would see that the ceiling wasn't finished. I loved my bedding I got it from my Grandma Giboney one year that she came to visit since I gave up my room for a week.

Provo Triathlon

Last Saturday Todd, Timmy and Trent did the Provo Triathlon. Todd has been training for the Spudman at the end of July so he thought it would be good to try out a sprint distance tri to see how he was doing with his training. So Timmy and Trent decided to join him. Saturday was Trent's birthday ... I'm not sure if this is a fun way to spend your b-day but they all seemed to have fun so I guess so.

Todd did an amazing job...and as his wife I am entitled to brag (a right wives and mother's always have). Todd took 2nd place in the Clydesdale division he competed in. He only missed 1st by 20 seconds. He had a great race and came in a few minutes earlier than his goal time. Results.

Here is a quick recap of the race from what Todd told me and what I saw as a spectator(yep I packed up all 3 kids picked up a neighbor and made it to the race by the 7:30 am start). His swim could have been faster if he would have stayed on course ... he ended up going pretty far out of his way at one point so had to come back which added to the time. His bike was right on goal and his run was faster than he was planning.

It was so much fun to be there cheering everyone on. The kids loved watching their dad and 2 of their uncles race and the boys both want to compete in the kids race next year and have been "practicing". Along with them my parents and several of our neighbors were there since their spouses were in the race too (and Holly and Jeff both took 2nd in their divisions as well). It was fun to have such a big cheering squad there.

Don't Get Married...You're a Good Person

My younger brother Timmy lives with us and has for almost 2 years now. This is a great setup for us and we absolultely don't want him to leave. For a slightly higher food bill and a monthly subscription to World of Warcraft we have a built-in babysitter and get to go on dates every week (he even watched the kids for 10 days when we went on our cruise). Plus the kids adore him and he's a blast to have around. Tonight when he was leaving on a blind date we were talking about it with Tayson and Luke. They were asking why Timmy would go on a date...so Todd said "so he can get married" and Tayson reponds quickly with "but he's a good person we don't want him to get married!" After a few laughs and asking him why good people shouldn't get married he explained that he's a good person to have in our family so he didn't want him to get married and leave. Then Luke started asking why Timmy would want to go on a date with a girl since girls are "funny". Sadly, I found out tonight that Claire and I also fall into this uncool "funny" category in Luke's book. For now he only likes boys and can think that all girls are "funny". I'm sure he'll change his tune all too soon for my liking.
