I'm learning (the hard way) that my kids are very similar to Todd and I. Here are a few examples from last night.
Tayson is very self critical. Yesterday we were writing letters to Santa and Todd was helping him correct his mistakes and using it as a chance to teach him and Tayson shut down completely and wouldn't write his letter. He kept saying things like "Santa can't read my bad writing" and "I'm too stupid to do this". No matter how I encouraged him he just wouldn't budge and kept tearing himself down. Sadly this trait comes from me. Just ask anyone why I don't play cards and rarely play board games...I hate sucking at something and I tear myself down and can't enjoy it at all.
Last night when I tucked Luke into bed he asked me to make his bed so he could go to sleep. He is so funny with his covers being straight and neat in order to sleep. Todd always makes fun of me because I will make him get out of bed so I can straighten the sheets before I get into bed. I swear Luke hasn't seen me do this...he just knows how much more comfortable it is to sleep when the sheets are straight.
Then there is Claire. We put her to bed around 8:00 and she doesn't fight us at all but she doesn't go to sleep. Last night she was still awake and playing with her dolls when I fell asleep. She was still asleep when I left for work this morning. I'm pretty sure my little night owl got that from her dad.
Sophie....I have no idea what to say about that little crazy girl. She is so full of life and energy and spunk. She is silly silly silly and is always on the go.

Yeah, about those traits. . . . I don't want to talk about it.
Let's just say Sassy is mini-me.
Cute kids. Must have great parents :)
