Christmas

The kids, the tree, new Sunday outfits, Tayson getting ready to give Luke bunny ears and holding Sophie back from running.

As usual we had Christmas at my parents house with the Schultz Family. There were soooo many presents. And we had tacos instead of a traditional Christmas dinner - yummy.

This year is the first year we have ever stayed home for Christmas. It was very laid back and simple. I had my parents, Mark and Heidi's family over for Christmas Eve dinner. We made cookies for Santa and the kids got to open their PJ's. I love that in this picture Sophie is kicking back on Luke.

Christmas morning we told the boys they couldn't get up before 7:00 am. At 7:01 am they came into our room and had already opened their stockings. So we got the girls up and the fun started.

Tayson of course no longer had his pj shirt on. If you look closely at the picture you can see Todd is setting up the fan in the background. I tried to make sticky buns and put too many rolls in the pan and they spilled over and the kitchen was a smokey mess. But the ones that stayed in the pan were yummy.


This picture cracks me up because Claire is eating her Krisp Kringle while trying to open her present with one hand all the while Shadow eying her treat.

Since we were leaving for our cruise the 27th we decided to clean up Christmas that afternoon. Sophie went ahead and added an extra layer to her outfit and kept finding candy canes. We tried taking them away from her but she would just find another one. It was like magic.

She was DISGUSTING!

It just kept getting worse and worse the longer we cleaned up.
She had tinsel and pine needles stuck everywhere. Needless to say as soon as the house was clean and back in order she went straight in the tub.


Next year we need a new star. When we were setting up the tree we realized that our star was missing the base that hooks it on the tree so I took 2 rubber bands and a water bottle and did a make shift one...but really is it that hard to just buy a new one?
